The University of Tasmania is the gateway for realising opportunities in the fermentation sector. The Undergraduate Certificate in Fermentation is an industry focused 4-unit stepping stone for those currently working in the industry. The course has a core unit in fermentation that includes a work placement or industry project.
The new Diploma of Applies Technologies course provides a unique opportunity for students to delve into the fundamentals of technology for business, including specialisations in cyber security, extractive industries, fermentation, ICT, sustainable business and advanced manufacturing. Consisting of 8 comprehensive units aligned to a specific need in industry, the program equips students with foundational knowledge and essential skills crucial for launching a successful career or advancing further studies in the rapidly growing technology sector.
Participants in the course will explore technology concepts through a dynamic blend of online content, real world case studies and invaluable networking and mentoring opportunities with industry professionals from around Tasmania and Australia. The curriculum spans a diverse range of topics form programming networks and software development, to robotics, information security and computer aided design. Students will learn about the appropriate rules, regulations and standards within each of these technological areas and will be introduced to real industry tools used for creating software, setting up and monitoring networks, carrying out analytics and programming robotics and sensor networks.
