Acknowledgement of Country

We pay our respects to the Traditional custodians of country, to the Elders, past and present. We acknowledge today’s Aboriginal community on all of lutruwita, who are the custodians of this island, and we recognise their continuing connection to land, waters, and culture. Always was, always will be.

Get agriCULTURED with Tasmania's Cool New Food Event

22 June 2021

Save the date for Tasmania’s freshest cool-season event! The inaugural agriCULTURED will be run in Launceston & Northern Tasmania from 5 - 8 August 2021.

agriCULTURED is cultivating food conversations, creating opportunities to share, learn and celebrate. Conversations are the small seeds that can help us grow a more vibrant and sustainable food system.

Through the leadership of Visit Northern Tasmania, the agri-food sector has co-designed this exciting new event. There will be something for everyone in our food system from growers, makers, and retailers through to community and consumers. This four-day event is a celebration of agriculture, food and drink, and includes:

  • Starter Culture Welcome Function
  • Conversations in the City: Grow, Make, Plate
  • Landscapes of Learning: Climate, Fire, Soil
  • Acoustic Life of Farm Sheds
  • Feeding our Future Design Thinking Brunch

This will be surrounded by a range of experiences such as a book launch by Matthew Evans with Petrachs at Stillwater, a Meet the Producers Dinner Grain of the Silos, and a FIRE+FERMENT dinner Timbre. You can also taste Northern Tasmania with Harvest LauncestonLaunceston Night Market, and special offers from our local bars, cafes & restaurants.

This event has been made possible with the support of partners including Events Tasmania, Big hART’s Acoustic Life of Sheds Program, Visit Northern Tasmania, City of Launceston, Launceston Central City, Aspire, the Silos Hotel and Grain of the Silos.

FermenTasmania is proud to be helping to deliver this exciting new event. Our hope is this is more than an event - we see this as a catalyst for change in our Tasmanian food system.

Early bird ticket sales are available until midnight June 30 so make sure you book your seat at the table. You can see more info at agriCULTURED
